Hello Everyone!

I am currently using WX5 13 Pro and so far I have been quite satisfied with more or less everything. :)

But this time I am facing a problem that I haven't been able to solve. Namely; I would love to insert a prober 'Sticky menu' into my webpage without any coding. (I am not a coder type of guy, I am affraid.) As far as I know, at the moment it is impossible (or is it?). I am absolutely aware of the checkbox, which I can tick, to put the menu always visible. But it is simply not the same. It is not a 'Sticky' solution. Something similar, I am to admint that, but still not the same.

Again; I do not wish to use any code. Is there any chance of getting a solution for this issue?
A different checkbox somewhere in the settings for isntance, to get a proper Sticky menu?

Thank you very much in advance, for your kind answer and

Best wishes,

István S.

Hello Istvan

In 2 TEMPLATE customization - Page scroll options you have the checkbox : Menu - keep always visible

And the checkbox : extend to the width of the browser window. And the ability to put a logo in the menu.

I have an example here : http://www.energifremtiden.dk/c4d/

And another here : http://www.bramminginfo.dk/vinklub/

When you scroll you see the "sticky" menu in top.

BUT - you write that it is not what you mean by a sticky menu ???

Do you have an example where we can see what you then mean - please

Kind regards

John S.

Hello John,

Thank you very much for your reply and the examples as well. The thing is, these are very nice menu solutions, but not the sticky ones that I'd need, I'm affraid.

Fortunatelly, I can show you some sticky ones, where the menu really sticks to the top. Here are they:
https://www.x5tuts.com/template/bistro/index.html
Plus here comes another one:
http://xaratemplate.co.uk/vintagecar/

I am sure you can see the difference now. I'd be more than happy and satisfied to see this, built in the software with an upcoming patch.

Best wishes again,

István S.

Hello Istvan

I see what you mean.

Look at this post : https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/en/post/173243

I think this is what you are asking for. It will however, require a bit of html.

You could write an idea-post and hope it will read by the people that is responsible for the development..

You could either add this bit of HTML or you could buy the template : Bistrot V13.

I hope you are helped by this.

Kind regards

John S.

You are obviously aware that you can use Template, customisation, page scroll options to create a "sticky menu"

You can create such a menu to look almost identical to the normal page menu, but remain always visible. You could therefore create a site and the minute the user scrolled then the "sticky menu" would appear which appears to be identical.

Hello John,

Thanks again, you are really kind, dealing with my problem. :) Actually I have seen and also tried and tested what you have linked. It did not work for me. I put the same code exactly where and how it was suggested. The menu stayed up permanently, (so far so good...) but there was an empty (transparent?) line in the left side of my screen, and the menu did not filled the whole screen. Though the width was set to 100%. But as I have said, I am not much of a coder, this is why I am using WSX5.

Esahc,

Yes, I am aware how to create an "always visible" menu in the page scroll options. But it is not a "sticky menu". It is "floating down" and from my perspective, sometimes it does not look very nice. A "sticky menu", as it is called in WordPress, however, always stays where it is. No floating. No nothing. :) And that's what I wanted to get in WSX5 too.

Thanks again and
Best wishes,

István S.

Hello Istvan

You are right about the coding. The strength of X5 is that you are able to create good looking sites without the need to know anything about HTML or PHP. For those with the need, it is good we have the html object and so.

I totally agree that a thing like a real sticky menu, should/could be something that was a matter of a checkbox and some settings in X5.

You should write an idea post. I promise I will give the idea a + and a smiley. We all should be interested in good features in X5.

Kind regards

John S.
