Bug: Split cells and merge cells and Undo  en

X5 does not support vertical split cells - only horizontal. To do so, you have to create two rows with the content of the two rows you no longer want cells merged in and then copy in the bits into the right places.

  • If you make a mistake and click on the Undo button, you get a mess with column 1 data in column 2 and so on plus an extra cell on the right-hand side.
  • In CB_X5_Bug2 attached, you can see the extra cell on the right of the 2018 February row and the 2018 February cell has been shifted to column 2 from column 1
  • In CB_X5_Bug2 attached you can also see the reult of attempting to insert a line above the top 2018 March line in order to try to fix the prior error - and then clicking on Undo to try to repair the table damage caused by the bug.

Two things need to happen:

  1. The bug which calculates new rows needs to be fixed, and the Undo bug calculation needs to be fixed.
  2. X5 should accept vertical splits and merges with no bugs. It has been around long enough that it really should do this and you cannot do table intensive work without proper table layout.

Cheers and thanks from the Cayman Islands

Hello Paul De Freitas,

I notified the developers the issue with the UNDO function.

About the new rows these are created according to the current layout and the developers are aware of it.

Many thanks!

Thank you Claudio. But please also ask the developers to add two more buttons - one to split cells vertically, and one to merge cells vertically. We already have the horizontal buttons.
