CUSTOMIZING RESPONSIVE SITE  en

3-questions about responsive site using PRO Version 13

1. I don't see a way to change the contents on the responsive site except for the header and footer. I can hide sections that are on the desktop site, but, I can't find a way to put different content from the desktop site that would only show on the responsive site. Is there a way to do this? Or to do things like change font size and add different jpgs into the content on the responsive site that would not show on the desktop site?

2. How can I access the HTML of the webpage? Do I have to use a different editor to open the pages I create or can I do it from X5?

3. When I check analyze it says I have no errors and 0% optimization. How do I optimize it? It looks okay in desktop and responsive, but, zero optimized? When I'm in the analyze page, everything is whited out and I can't click on anything.

Thanks

1. Sadly it is not possible to hide an object on the desktop but have it visible at lesser resolution. This would be a great feature and I am sure it would not be difficult to implement. Perhaps if more people asked for this we may get it.

As for font sizes, jpg's. etc WX5 does a good job. The ideal is to have the same size font irrespective of the device you are viewing the site on. With JPG's, WX5 will resize them appropriate to the device screen size.

2. There are many ways to add html to a page (eg html cell, embed html in a text cell, add html code to header or footer, add html code to any page through step 3 Map, select page, properties (bottom RH side), expert tab. However, if you wish to edit the generated html code you will need to go to step 5, Export the website to disk and open with notepad or an html editor of your choice. This is NOT recommended and should be unnecessary. It will also be futile because the next time you save your website to disk it will be overwritten. Unlike other lesser website design packages, WX5 does not require any knowledge of html to create wonderful websites.

3. In step 5, Analyse and Export, Analyse and Optimise Website, you first have to click on the Next Icon (top right). WX5 will then generate lists of errors, alerts and Information that will assist in creating the optimal website.

Hope that helps

Question 2: You can insert html js and php-code in text objects, HTML objects and in properties in sitemap as well as in the text of the article description and partly also in head and foot. You should not change the html, js and php code generated by wx5, as this will always be overwritten.

Question 3: You get the data for the project analysis by pressing the green button at the top right to start the analysis. then the links are also activated.

JJ.

The best way are 1 Question = 1 post, so you will get more accurate answers.

Haven't figured out how to reply directly to each of you and say thank you for responding to my questions. I left the hand and checkmark icons in green, when I click they go red. I intend to say useful and corrrect, so, I left the icons alone. Thanks again for ther responses.
