Hello Niyi

Yes - you can.

You can do it in several ways. The best way is to use  a document-system.

You can also use the free member-system ADMIDIO.

This system has the ability to handle users that has different rights.

Users can also upload and download material - if user is logged in.

You can see the system here : https://www.admidio.org

There is also a demo where you can log in and try the system.

The system is totally free and there is a good support.

I use the system myself. You can see a testsite I have here : http://www.energifremtiden.dk/c4d

Here I use the member system to control access to download-material.

You can see it in function here : http://www.energifremtiden.dk/c4d/objekte.html

Another way is to use upload-scripts and download scripts, but here you have to take in consideration, that the scripts should be able to habdle access-restrictions on the files, so not all should be able to upload/download.

I will suggest the ADMIDIO system.

Kind regards

Thanks John. Can one make a seamless connection from Website X5 member area to ADMIDIO member area without been redirected to do another login - that is, login in directly into ADMIDIO from Website x5 member area with same website x5 login credential.

Best regards,

Niyi

Hello Niyi

I do not think that SSO is possible for ADMIDIO and X5.

A half solution is to use the same username and passwords.

I don't know what you have in your protected area(s) in X5, but you could eventually "move" the material to ADMIDIO, so that you have X5 as the website-holder and the ADMIDIO for the log-in-material.

This way you only have one area to log in to.

ADMIDIO has a rather useful calendar with the possibility to participate events.  In near future, event-management will be enhanced regarding the participation, and then it could be a useful tool for arranging meetings, arrange events that require participation and it could be for arrangements where it is easy to follow who have accepted and who has not.

Participants can have guests ( if allowed ) and they can make a remark to their participation. You can to an event set one or more leaders that can manage the event-participation.

The calendar is not as good as the LuxCal calendar ( http://calendarforum.dk/ ) if you only need a calendar.

You can also use the news section in ADMIDIO and it could be used for internal "mails"/messages.

You can have a board with links and you can have photo galleries.

This is a list of the possibilities in ADMIDIO. There are also some plugins awailable.

I hope find the right solution for your needs.

Kind regards

Hello again

In ADMIDIO you could use the option : stay signed in.

This way you will always be logged in, unless you clear the browser data or you have a system that automatic removes cookies.

I hope my posts are useful for you.

Kind regards
