Can't get v.14 Pro to install  en

I successfully installed X5 14 Pro on my laptop. When I try to install it on my desktop, the program seems to install all the files, but when I try to run, it never opens. When the UAC comes up, it shows that imRegister.exe file has a /fail after it. I've disabled my antivirus and I completely uninstalled previous versions. I tried running it as an administrator. Nothing seems to work. Any thoughts?

Can you please try to create a new user in windows and test if there it works?

I'm using WINDOWS 10. I tried going to my wife's desktop, downloading program files. It's doing the exact same thing as on my dektop. It appears to unpack all the files, but then all actopn stops. I sattempt to start the program from the installed desktop shortcut, then absolutely nothing happens.

I found out what the problem is. My antivirus program is Bitdefender. Their latest release created a new problem. It caused certain programs to either stop running, or to be installed. This occurs even though the apps are "allowed". When I uninstalled Bitdefender, the programs install and run without problem. This seems to be a problem with niche-type programs. Apparently, Bitdefender has been getting a lot of negative feedback from companies which provide this type of application.
