V14 Header  en

Hello,

I have upgraded to V14, i just want to understand the changes to the header. I get the menu, but i am unclear how i can make better use of the "Extend to browser width" option.

Is this not exactly the same as the previous header background, extend to full width?

What i have wanted to do in the past is; have page width (set by responsive breakpoint) around 12-1300px but have the logo and menu stretch to whatever the browser window is. I hoped this was the answer.

What i have done is set the responsive breakpoint to 1920 (actually 1885), keeping the logo and menu (logo left and menu right) as wide as possible, then using empty text cells to pad to keep the content closer to my 12-1300px.

I then hide the padding as the resolution decreases in the responsive settings. This does not seem like the right way to get this result.

I just want to understand better how i can make use of the header?

Thanks

P.S

The header background works exactly as in V13 and is always browser width. In here you can place a logo on the left, right, tiled or whatever you wish.

The Menu Object can be placed anywhere in the header itself and as such cannot extend to browser width (as in V13)

However, the Sticky Bar can be set with logo and menu object (and other objects), and this can be set to browser width and turned on or off for each resolution. The Sticky Bar is similar to V13 (page scroll options, keep always visible) but with much more functionality.

As an example of what can be done very easily in V14, many new websites are single page and can be set up without a header or header background, in the first Cells an image, logo, or perhaps a logo over a parallax image can be placed, the sticky bar is then configured as required and the minute the user moves the screen even a little, the menu appears.

Thank you Esahc,

Just to be clear then, does this mean that if i place a logo in the header background - left justified, the logo would always move to the maximum left of the browser window, even if this was bigger than my highest breakpoint?

(So if my largest resolution was 960 in the responsive settings, and i viewed the page at 1920, the logo would still be on the maximum left)

Regards

P.S, yes!

step 2 Template, Template stucture, header background, image (logo), no repeat, top left, centre left or bottom left.

Why not simply create a new project and try it?

You can of course design a separate header background (logo placement) for each resolution, perhaps using different size logos to best suit the available space.
