V14 Email Layout Background Colour Error
Author: Nigel B.Hi,
I have noticed an error in the V14 Template Settings > Email Layout.
I have set the background colour on the Email Layout and Message Content to white which shows in the software correctly and then I upload my website.
When I test the email form on my website to check it works ok, the Confirmation and Data Submission emails I receive have the wrong background colour to what I set it as. The background colour on the returned email for the Layout and Message Content is always blue.
See attached:
I have been playing around with the settings but nothing seems to change the colour of the returned Confirmation and Data Submission emails. I can change the colour in the software ok but the colour doesn't show correctly on the returned emails.
Any ideas on how to correct this?
Thanks, Nigel
Nigel, have you visited step 2 Template, Email Layout? I thought I had done everything and then tested the site only to find a background colour and border.
It would seem more logical if these settings were part of the email form object settings. . . .

Hi Esahc,
Yes. That's the settings I'm referring to. I have set the background for both "Email Layout" and "Message Content" to be white, which shows white in the program, but when I receive the emails from the website the background is blue (as above).

I notice whatever colour I try and use for the "Email Layout" and "Message Content" backgrounds, the emails are always blue. I have to change to a Transparent background so there is no colour whatsoever and so I can actually read the text.
Nigel, there is no chance that an image got added during the conversion from 12->14 under Image/Company Logo is there?
If the hosting is the same place for V14 as it was for V12, have you forced a full upload of the site in case an old component remains? (I would test by creating a new folder, upload your site to there (temporarily) and test it).

Hi Esahc,
There's no old logo in place. I've changed everything - removed logo, changed colours, but no luck.
I've even exported the project without the backups and preview files, deleted the whole project folder and imported the file back into X5, deleted ALL files and folders on my hosting prior to a new upload, but still the same problem.
It also happens with two of my other websites. Does it occur with yours?
Nigel, I have never had this issue, and I am running imported projects. Perhaps Incomedia can assist.

Thanks for your inpt anyway Esahc :) I'll wait for Incomedia to see if they have any ideas..
Hello Nigel,
The developers are already working on it and it will be solved soon.
Which email client are you using?
Many thanks!
