How can the website designer, who has Administrator permission lock a page solely for himself, without creating a group and a dummy user?

Mark, does it need to be locked or simply not visible on your site?
If invisible is acceptable, simply hide the page before uploading your site and if you wish, remove it from the sitemap (step4 map, page, properties, expert) to make it less likely it will be offered by google search.

As well as being the website designer, I am also the administrator for the databases. So I need to be able to lock certain pages. It seems crazy that I cannot lock pages without creating a dummy user, simply because the Administrators group does not appear as a choice, when locking pages.
Hi Mark,
unlike ordinary Users, the Administrators have access to all the Locked pages in the website, so you can simply create a locked page which you will be able to access as Administrator.
Thank you, I wish you a nice day.

I can ONLY IF i create a dummy user.
You try and lock a page without ticking any of the groups/users.
Hi Mark,
when you create a locked page, you can only choose a User Group from the pop up window you're right. The reason is that usually locked pages are created for the users. As the admin already has access to all pages, it wouldn't make much sense to add an Admin Group.
What you need to do is to create a new Group without any user, just an empty group you can select in the pop up window. Once online, you will be able to have access to the locked pages using the admin login data, which are the same ones you use when login in to the Control Panel.
Please let me know if I can help you further.
