Entry page no longer needed but will not go away  en

I tested the use of an Entry Page and found that it did not automatically go to my Home Page after the indicated number of seconds - you had to physically click on the GIF I used in order to go to the Home Page. During this period, the words "Transferring data..." appeared in the browser status bar.

So since the behaviour was not correct, I decided to remove it and went to Settings | Entry page and removed the ckeckmark " Show the entry page"

However, the Entry Page imagery still shows.

See www.ignatius.ky...

Cheers

Paul, the entry page is saved as index.php, after ensuring the proper homepage is called index.html (step3 Map, highlight home page and select properties) and uploading it to your host (check by typing www.ignatius.ky/index.html as the url). You can then delete index.php

BTW Please check on someone elses PC if your website opens properly, on mine it was blocked because of an improper SSL certificate. You may need to contact you host and ask questions.

Hi

GoDaddy has screwed up the certificate - and there is up to a two hour wait time to talk with anyone there.

Getting back to the entry page, I will delete the index.php file manually but I do not understand why WSX5V14 does not do this automatically if I remove the Entry Page checkmark. My home page is named "default.html" because when I tried to rename the file to "index" with a file type of "html" it said that one already existed. It did not - a file called index.php existed.

Someone is not testing...

Cheers

Paul

Paul, much of the time it depends on the configuration of your hosing account. It is not unusual on some hosts for the index.html to open first and on others index.php - I find it better to have either one or the other. Hopefully default.html will open automatically for all users, otherwise you may have to edit the htaccess file in the root directory of your host.
