Error message when converting a project file from v11 to v14 - any ideas  en

I have followed the instructions on exporting and importing converted project files, in this case from Home v11 to Start v14.

The project file is created perfectly (and reloads into v11 exactly) but when importing it into v14 I get the below error message which doesn't explain a lot. I've tried several exports and imports with newly created files but always the same error message in v14. The programme then stops and will not load the project file.

If someone could try to import the iwzip file for me to check on their v14 installation, it is only 16,876KB in size. I would be happy to forward it on....

Rob, is this the website?

Whilst I would be more than pleased to assist, I do not own V14 start

This means that whilst I could possible import your site, you could not read the resultant iwzip file (I suspect this to be the same for the majority of users on this site).

Whilst I have no idea what is causing the problems, you could try removing the youtube links before export from V11, if that does not work, remove the slide show. I believe these may no longer work in V14 due to the change from flash to html5.

The second option is to send the iwzip file to Incomedia. I understand you go to https://wetransfer.com/ and post the link here for incomedia to retrieve the file (if you are at all concerned about others having access to your source, you should mark this thread as private).

My preferred option would be to simply rebuild the site.

If the above site is correct, there are only 5 pages, 2 youtube links, a slide show and pics. I guesstimate only an hour or 2 of work to recreate the site and if you have issues we would be here to assist with specific questions. You could recreate the site by copy and past from the web, or from a running copy of V11 locally on your PC. You would need to recreate the slide show and use the new video object to link the youtube clips because flash is no longer supported in V14. The advantage would be a clean project without any unexpected "glitches" as the result of the upgrade.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

Thankyou so much the two of you.

I think I shall await news from Claudio and see what transpires. The site above is the correct one, but there is no pressure to get on with an upgrade immediately. I can see the issue with Flash and HTML 5 and the slide show app may need to be changed for another similar I'd guess. I can certainly have a go at a copy and paste approach if the dvelopers come up blank, as I have both versions on the same desktop. It's my first attempt at a web site so it's modest, but I really enjoy learning new skills, and WebSiteX5 has a gentle "hold your hand approach" once you get into the way it all works. As it is just an information website for a small charity the Start version of X5 offers just enough variety to make it interesting (I hope!) Thankyou again, Rob.
