Hi all,

I needed to install the Website X5 evolution 14 again because of a windows 10 crash.

I hve 2 websites 1 I could import without any problems but the second I receive a error message "The end of the record of the central map is not found" see attachmend (in Dutch).

Can anybody give me a solution for my problem because the is a pretty big site.

I have the files stored on my private server at home (website files and project files) but the site is on a rented server space.

Thanks in advance

Eric

Eric, if you have uploaded your site to the web via the built in FTP client, there should be a backup (or 2 or more)

Close WX5.

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the project folder and there you should find a backup folder. Copy the most recent backup up to the project folder.

rename project.iwprj2 as projectbroken.iwprj2

rename the backup as project.iwprj2

Run WX5 - hopefully all will be well. Please let us know if this is not the case.

Hi, is there an other way to import the existing site (not the project file) like iy's uploaded to the server.

Eric, sadly you need the project directory and a backup file or an iwzip to restore your project if the project is corrupt. WX5 cannot recreate the project from the published site.

Is it possible to provide another screen shot of the project directory, but include the file sizes as in my example? And if there are any backups in the backup directory, can you also provide a screenshot of that?

Eric, you have provided a screen shot of the V13 project, you don't have a V14 project?

If not, run V13 (if you no longer have it you can download it from your profile (top right, this screen)) and open the project and export (step5 Export, export project). Note where it is saved and close V13. Now open V14, select import, and navigate to where the exported iwzip file was saved. This will restore your project to V14 and upgrade it from V13.

However

If you already had the project running in V14 before the crash, please provide a screen shot of both documents>incomedia>Website X5 V14 Evolution>Magazine

and

documents>incomedia>Website X5 V14 Evolution>Magazine>backup

If the correct files exist we can hopefully restore the project from a more recent version.

Esahc I think I'm going to rebuild the site becquse it takes to long to figure out the problem.

The builders need to find a way to make it work when yhere is a problem with the project file you can recup it with the site online.

Thanks for trying to help me

Eric

OK Eric, whatever you feel most comfortable with, although if the files exist I am sure we could have restored the project.

When you have recreated the site, please go to step5 Export, export the project. Then make sure you keep a copy of the iwzip somewhere other than your PC (I try to keep it on the host with my website). This will give you absolute protection. It is physically impossible to automatically rebuild the site from the published website, but it can be quite quick to manually recreate the site using copy and paste.

Good luck, but please advise if you need assistance.
