I am not aware of any bugs causing instability in WX5 at this time.

You seem to have had ongoing issues over the past 3 years so I will assume it is the same hardware, and according to your post, it is still Windows 7.

Does this crash involve a blue screen event in Windows?

WX5 stopped working - does this mean you cannot start and use WX5 or does it crash in use, in which case, does it crash during a specific proceedure or at random?

In all other respects, is your PC stable?

A quick search on google for   OS Version:    6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 resulted in many hits for blue screen events, and most solutions involved updating drivers, in particular, the graphics card (although one or 2 suggested the removal of Symantec).

Please advise.

Hello there!

Can you please post a screenshot of the error message is the exact place where it appears?

Plase disable your antivirus and start the program as administrator, so to verify if you keep getting this message in spite of this.

Thanks, I'm looking forward your reply. Kind regards.

Hello A.Go

Check my post : https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/en/post/187513

Very similar crash.... with same message about libcef.dll

The cause was an issue with HTML object + JS code.

in my case I have changed the line

<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="mes_js/jquery-min.js"></script>

By this one

<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.8.2/jquery.min.js"></script>

Hope this helps

Regards

Hello,

Thank you very much for all your replies.

1. When Preview is triggered WX5 is Crashed.

2. My PC works faultlessly. Only WX5 keep crashing over and over.

3. Hardware is Brand new. It is a Gaming Desktop PRO Plus PC. But I prefer Win7 Ultimate SP1 over Win10 PRO.

4. No Blue Screen.

I hope you can fix those bugs as soon as possible.

V14.0.5.3 is bugged.

Please follow Elisa's advise. As stated in my first reply, I am not aware of any bugs causing instability in WX5 at this time. Similar errors reported on this site have invariably been caused by Visual C++ and .NET dependencies not being present in new Windows 10 installs.

In the case of Adrian E's post we assumed that following the last post the problem was resolved, but Adrian never confirmed this, in the case of your post from 10/21/2017 you never replied after 10/23/2017 so the logical assumption was that you had resolved the issue but never advised the solution.  Did the problem go away or was it so intermittent that it was not worth reporting?

Because this sounds more like a conflict than a fault, have you tried a clean boot of windows without any other programs running. No firewall, no antivirus, no helper apps, etc?

https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

Since the issue is in preview, does the problem occur when you preview in Firefox, Edge or Chrome (top right button in preview browser)?

And if you are making changes that can affect multiple webpages (eg header/footer/menu), does the crash occur if you first save and then press CTRL + preview?

Since all else has failed, have you tried creating a new user (temporarily) and logging in to it and running WX5 there?

For what it's worth I recently had an issue with Video Card drivers causing instability, I believe it was a standoff between Microsoft and nVidia, both thought they had the best drivers and kept updating over each other. Is it possible to load standard video card drivers to see if that resolves the issue?

(I believe this would happen if you ran a clean-boot-into-windows as above)

Hello A.Go,

Check also your event viewer to see if more infos are recorded !

Incomedia team, there no possibility to run WSX5 into debug mode to get a trace file, even if the software is running into degraded mode in this case. By example.

websiteX5.exe -debuglevel=5

It should be nice to provide an option like this to solve some issues.

Usefull for YOU and for US to reduce many messages exchange with no real solution becasue the cause is not really detected !

Regards

A.Go - I have exhausted my crystal ball. I am sure the problem is your PC rather that WX5 *because so many do NOT have these issues", but I have run out of ideas. Hopefully Incomedia will have something up their sleeve.

Good luck and please inform us if the reason is discovered.

Hi A.Go,

please try using these tools from Microsoft, to test and repair the entire .net frameworks installed on your pc.
Download them from https://msdnshared.blob.core.windows.net/media/MSDNBlogsFS/prod.evol.blogs.msdn.com/CommunityServer.Components.PostAttachments/00/08/99/90/04/netfx_setupverifier_new_2015_12_18.zip then open the .zip file and start the netfx_setupverifier.exe. This will check if your .net frameworks are corrupted and if it finds any errors, you can restore them with this https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135 (seleziona NetFxRepairTool.exe e procedi al download) . If even this last tool is not able to fix the error there probably are ther issues in your system you need to check out.

Also, is this issue described on this post the same which you have described on this one?

Thanks! Kind regards.

I understand your frustration. My PC is flakey. I run much of your chosen software, and yet my WX5 is rock solid. I suspect this is because my PC has been through various iterations of Operating Systems starting with an early Win7. By good luck or good judgement, I seem to have ALL the required pre-requisites, plus stable drivers for all my devies (Microsoft introduce flakeyness with every (failed) attempt to update me).

I can only suggest that you follow through on each of the above recommedations and then report on success or otherwise. At this point we are not sure if you have carried out any of the pre-requistite library installations/validations.

Hello all,

Perhaps it could be interessant to list all the hardware in your pc for all of these who have this type of problem in case there's a hardware problem (mainly video card driver for these kind of issues...) to isolate the problem.
