Hi Bjorn.

There is no real limit set for number of users. It could virtually contain almost as many as you like.

I invite you to consider the amount of users you're expecting though.

You should be expecting the number of users to be well over let's say, 10.000, you might want to generate your whole website with X5 but consider integrating some other system of user management in order to make it easier to handle such an high quantity of users.

let me know should you need any other clarification.

Hope I've been helpful

Stefano

I guess it can be 5-6.000.
What other system can you recommend for administration?

Hello Bjorn

Without knowing what purpose the system should fill, I could suggest you to look at the free ADMIDIO system

https://www.admidio.org

It is a member system ( Mysql database ).

I have made a system where I am using it for showing didital objects, and it allows logged- in users to download items until an amount in MB or a number of downloads has taken place in a 30 days period.

It is on this site : http://c4dshow.com/

You can see an example here : http://c4dshow.com/3d-figuren.html  you can choose a category in the left-menu.

Users log in to the member system here : http://c4dshow.com/member-system.html

The system is free and is supported by a number of dedicated developers.

As all data is in a Mysql database, I think there is no limit regarding data or performance.

The system has a very good and smooth import function for importing users from e.g. a CSV file.

Kind regards

John S.

Hello Bjorn

Then ADMIDIO should be perfect for you.

It has information pages, and weblinks that can be categorized.

All can be set up for access for logged in or all or for special groups.

And the just released beta-version, has a very good event function, where people can participate events, and you can set a number of parameters up for participating : Deadline for attending, max participants, is a participant allowed to bring guests and so.

Kind regards

John S.

Hello Bjorn

The ADMIDIO system is a stand-alone system. It has a much better user authentication system than the X5.

In X5 you have to upload the project every time you have a new user !!!!!!! - not good.

You can link to the system or you can "integrate" the system in X5 by the use of iframes, as I have done it, in my site shown.

If you have information you only want members to see, then it is in the ADMIDIO system you should have this information.

I suggest you make your website in X5. No users in X5.

Then have all about the users in ADMIDIO.

And have all about information and links in ADMIDIO if the information is user-restricted information.

Kind regards

John S.
