Hello Incomedia Staff,
I do have the same ‘Denkweise’ as Wilfried in https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/en/post/189639
For years I have handstored a .htaccess containing “ErrorDocument 404 /index.html” in the root of every of my X5-websites.
Therefor please provide us ASAP with version 15.0.1.1 fixing that inconvenience, that version 15.0.1 always does replace the .htaccess-file (even with nothing!) or denies to upload anything.
OR
Make it default / possible to choose the projects index.html as the 404-page.
Thanks a head.

Hi Holger.
I understand the issue you're having.
Tthe software won't let you set the homepage (index.html/index.php) as the default 404 page.
So you try to set it manually in the file, but considering that the software now handles the 404 redirect directly inside the program, this part gets of course overridden.
Basically, as of now the software will ALWAYS handle the 404 redirect inside your htaccess file.
If you don't select any 404 page, it will remove it from the htaccess. If you do, it will place that.
I'll proceed to inform the developers about this specific necessity.
I thank you for reporting your concern.
