User Private File UpLoads in Private Area  en

Hi guys ...
Please, a very important question ...

I know I can build private areas for users BUT ... Can I allow them to UPLOAD private files (doc, xls, pdf, jpg ETC)?

I need a private area where customers can load files, where me or my staff can upload other files for each user (and everything as to be PRIVATE) and the owner/customer only will have the possibility to download them.

At the same time, I want to give priviledge to some other user, for example some guy of my staff.

The process is:

1. Customer_A register and account and upload 1 or more files

2. There files are completely PRIVATE, and only Customer_A and ME can see that.

3. I allow user called, let's say Staff_3 to see and download and work on that files

4. ME or Staff_3 uploads NEW files on the user account of Customer_A

5. Customer_A does the CHECKOUT and download its files.

For user called, for instance Customer_B, the same think. Other staff member will see that content, but only that, and Customer_B can NOT see files from Customer_A ... and so on ...

I hope it's clear.

Can I do that?

THANK YOU.

Pietro

Hello Pietro

Yes - and no.

You cannot do this with X5.

You can do it using a software as ADMIDIO. ( free software )  https://www.admidio.org/

This software lets you specify folders.

You can have usergroups where you specify the rights for these usergroups.

Right to upload.

And for each folder you can specify which userproup(s) that has rights to see and download from the folders ( and sunfolders )

You can see an example here : http://c4dshow.com/3d-figuren.html where I have used the X5 to create the site, and have used the ADMIDIO, to control the access to the files.

You can in the left-menu choose different categories.

Some downloads are allowed for public users and other downloads are only allowed for logged in members.

I have made it so. that members are alloowed to download an amount of x MB amd/or a number of x downloads for a period of 30 days ( rolling period ).

If a user exceeds his quota, then he is not allowed to download any more, before the rolling period allows this.

The system takes automatic care of this.

The quotas and the period can be specified.

Kind regards

John S.
