Saved on Shared Drive, now showing as IWPRJ2 and won't open on new laptop  en

Built a site on Professional 13.

Saved it on our Shared Drive.

Laptop died. New laptop. Installed WebSite X5 13.

Went into Shared Drive to import site, but it's IWPRJ2. All the backups are showing the same file extension and type. Each one has the expected size to it. I just can't open any of them.

Is there a way to get it back or will I have to rebuild?

. . . you also saved as ".iwzip" (as mentioned several times) ? - so you can import and open . . .

Sorry, I'm being dense (I'm not computer literate).

How do I know if I saved it as that. Where did I mention .iwzip? Where do I find that?

Had another look, but I can only see the .iwzip when I try to import when I'm in the X5 site and nothing is showing as that.

Just asked OH as he's more computer savvy than me.

One of our other sites is .iwzip and that can be imported and opened okay, it's just the other one that is .iwprj2

Belay that last one.

Can import the other file that has .zip, but when I try and open it I get an error message:

An error occured while loading the Project. [There is an error in XML document (1,3085)]

OH has also tried to open both on the machine one of them was built on, but same error message. And have tried copy and pasting file I want into a new project, but that not work (error message).

Mo

You say you saved to a shared drive. Did you have the whole directory structure on the shared drive, or simply the iwprj2 file?

If you have the full directory structure on the shared drive, the content should look something like this.

If so, you can copy the whole folder to your new laptop, into the default Incomedia directory

. . .  and the next time you open WX5 it should be available.

Thank you for your response.

I tried copying the whole directory, but when I tried to open it I got the XML error message:

An error occured while loading the Project. [There is an error in XML document (1,3085)]

Thank you.

I don't know how to do that. I'll ask OH tomorrow.
