Hi Allan,

I've checked your website and there's no horizontal scroll bar in sight when I take it to the full width of the desktop website. But I noticed your website isn't made responsive. Which means objects are hidden or pushed underneath each other when you reduce the horizontal width of the screen. For example when your visitors use a tablet or a cell phone to browse your site. Check for example my site https://www.schotlandopmaat.nl how this works for the visitors.

I would strongly recomend you to do so. When I look at my visitor numbers more than half of them uses a phone or a tablet. They need a good experience when visiting a site otherwise you might loose potential customers.

Succes,

Robert

P.S. Do you deliver in the Nethelands? laughing

Alan, there is no horizontal scroll bar (at the bottom) on my screen.

I can make it appear if I make the browser window smaller (ie too narrow for the home page)

On your PC, if you hold CTRL down and tap the minus key on your keyboard, does the scroll bar disappear as the display size decreases?

If this is not what you see, can you provide a screen shot?

Hi Robert,

It only appears to be on the homepage and only with the Edge broswer i.E is fine but i have not tried Chrome yet.I also did have it set as responsive but disabled it as it did not look that great on mobile i just needed to get the site replaced as certain functions Previously provided by Serif are due to be disabled.

Very nice site by the way.

Well we have done Japan before..

Hi Alan,

Yep, it's there in Edge... I've checked your home page, but can't find what's the culprit though. But it seems to be only the home page. Have you perhaps added some custom code on the home page which might be doing this?

By the way, we don't do Japan, only Scotland, Bonny Scotland...cool (sunglasses are optimistic though).

Regards,

Robert

Hi Robert,

Thanks for looking, the only code i have added is in the footer which i would of thought would effect all pages?

Thank you

Alan, you're obviously quite right, the problem only occurs in Edge. If it was me I would duplicate the project (just select your project and select duplicate), then working on the copy I would delete your code in the footer, then one object at a time, remove everything in the footer and ultimately the footer. Since you are using pro, you can preview at each step in Edge to see if/when you have been successful.

If the problem persists, perhaps the shinystat counter next (it is up to date??)

Then perhaps turn off the sidebar.

If the problem still persists, start work on the header removing objects and then ultimately all header content if necessary.

I am sure by then you will have identified if not what the problem is, at least where the problem is.

Once this has been identified, simply open the original project and fix it :-)

I must admit, Edge does not always play nicely with my websites, but I have never experienced the problem you are having.

Good luck

Hi Robert/Esahc,

It appears the built in Animated slider is the cause of the issue, have switched to jssor slider for the moment with no issues thanks for looking into this.

Alan, which particular animated slider caused the issue?

If an object is causing issues (even in edge), we perhaps need to make sure Incomedia are aware of the problem.

BTW congrats on identifying the problem, I'm guessing there was almost nothing left to delete when you got  lucky :-)
