Internal links to improve ranking: dofollow / nofollow
Author: Dmitrij K.Hi!
It´s known that the internal linking helps to improve the ranking. I tried to make some internal links but all of them linked to the pages on my domain are nofollow. I cannot make a dofollow link to a page on my site.
I tried links to .php, .html files; with opening in the same window or in a new one; links to Website pages or to URL with my page links. The links are always nofollow. When I try a link to another domain, the link is perfectly dofollow.
The problem is that I (and we) need the dofollow links if I want to pass some link juice from one page to another. The nofollow links in Menu are OK but on the page I wish to have some links with anchor texts to some other pages. And they need to be dofollow.
Are there some setting of WebsiteX5 which do nofollow links by default?
Thanks.
P.S.: you can install the extension "Automatic Backlink Checker" in Chrome to check the on-page links for dofollow/nofollow.

I tried already but the result is the same. I checked with 2 different checking tools. They return NOFOLLOW reply.
Here is a piece of text with 4 types of links and the code is below. 3 first links are to .php, however it was checked also with .html pages.
link 1: nofollow - checking returns nofollow
link 2: dofollow - checking returns nofollow
link 3: rel is empty (it should be dofollow by default as I suppose) - checking returns nofollow
link 4: rel is empty (it should be dofollow by default as I suppose), the link is to another domain - checking returns dofollow

ciao, KolAsim. Thanks a lot for your comments.
I´ll wait for the comments from Incomedia.
Hi Dmitrij.
Technically, the dofollow should never be necessary.
Every link that shows no "nofollow" attributes are considered as links to follow.
Try and remove the attribute from those and check if the response is different
Thank you

Hi Stefano,
with "dofollow" it was just a trial. Of cause no "nofollow" attributes = dofollow.
I tried before without attribute. The result is however that the links are considered as nofollow.
If you are sure that it should be OK, I´ll try to use some other tools to test dofollow/nofollow.
Thanks.
Hi Dmitrij.
Yes exactly. As of now, the browsers only apply particular rules in case of a "nofollow" attribute.
Even if you insert a dofollow, a normal link should already be analyzed correctly by default.
Let me know if I can provide further clarification on this
Thank you

Hi Stefano,
I would like to share with you some new information to the internal linking I´ve read today.

2. Use "a hrefs" instead of onclick="window.location="
Keep in mind that search engines do not treat onclick="window.location=" as ordinary links. Which means that in most cases they won't follow this type of navigation. And definitely won't treat them as internal link signals.
By default if a user makes a link to the webpage in WX5 it´s an "onclick" link.
If the mentioned above is truth it would be fine that Incomedia makes the default link as "a hrefs".
It´s a suggestion.
Thanks.
