Gerrit, you own the Pro version, so when you preview, please try selecting an alternative bowser.

Does this work??

It is possible, although time consuming to add media player plugins to the preview browser, but most of us simply preview through our default browser when trying to check "unsupported" media/formats.

BTW Flash should be avoided, it is no longer supported (by default) by the leading browsers, and I suspect Java is on a similar patrh.

Please let us know if using your own browser resolves your issue.

Thank you Esahc.

Now, is it possible to have a video link in my text block?

All I want to say is " Click here" to watch the video, and the video should then open in a Showbox Window.

I tried., and no luck.

I have been using Web X since 2005, and the one aspect that has always been dissapointing is the Video & graphics implementation in Web x.

I would like to open a text box, place my text, place images, and place video, with place holders, so that I can move them around and place them where I want.

I suppose a good example is Powerpoint, in a PPoint window, I can place images, text boxes, and video, and move it all around as I would like it, that would be brilliant in Web X

My websites are 90% text based, as I try to stay away from Graphics/Images and Videos, as much as I can, because it is the weak aspect of Web X.

If I am wrong, then please point me in the right direction.

Regards,

Gerrit de la Rey

Hi Gerrit,

the Media Player Plugin is not already installed on the default internal browser for the preview, so you would need to install it or, as Esahc suggested, you can simply use the other available browsers.

As to the possibility of linking videos, you will first need to create your "Click here" text using a Text Objekt. You will then need to select it and choose the link option . In the following window you can choose the option "File or URL", so you can link either a video on your PC or an online video, from YouTube for example.

Please let me know if I can help you further. Kind regards.

I have done this Elisa....

PLEASE READ MY TEXT carefully...I have used WebX since 2005.

I know how to create the text for " Click here".......

BUT in WebX 15, it does not open a Video Showbox Window,.

I never had issues in 14, 13, 12...etc.

WebX 15 is BROKEN SOFTWARE...it needs a lot of bug fixing

Gerrit, you can always download the latest version of the software through your profile (top right this screen), and select download, but before you do so I would restart your PC just in case Windows is in the process of installing an update and has "messed with" your existing OS

If you are prepared for the consequences, you can also download the next version of the software to see if that fixes any problems you are experiencing http://beta.websitex5.com/beta_en.html

Hi Gerrit,

as Esahc said, you will find the latest version of the software in the "Download" section of you Help Center account.

Also, please install install the Windows Media Player Plugin for Chrome by following the instructions available here:
http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95697
Open the Preview Browser of WebSite X5 and then visit following link on it:
http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/?fpchrome

It will notify you that the plugin is already present but you will need to install it again. Once done close the preview browser and then restart it again.

Please let me knwo if you can solve the issue. Kind regards.
