Why can not I download Pixabay images online using WebsiteX5 11 evolution? Searching and sorting on 'Pixabay' online pages but downloading is not allowed and a "general error" message stops downloading.
Sometimes this feature worked well now, unfortunately not.
What can we do and have this solution?

Try to repair the .net framework software from microsoft.

To repair the .NET Frameworks 3.5 and 4 in Windows XP you need to use following cleanup tool where you first remove Version 4 and then 3.5:

Once done you need first to reinstall .NET 3.5 by downloading it from following link:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21
And then .NET 4 by downloading it from following link:

Unfortunately, that's not the problem! I've done all the steps and install the NET Framework again. That's the mistake now. You can search and view Pixabay photos but you can not download. Even in the case of templates, this is the case and can not be upgraded with new templates.
I think developers are no longer supporting X5 Version 11 and this is a phenomenon that limits their use. I do not want to change the XP operating system or computer. New versions require Windows 7-8 or 10 versions and do not need a perfect Windows XP. It would be nice to tell the truth about limiting the use of X5 11. I bought the program from myself and it is not fair to limit old versions. Fortunately, photos from Pixabay can also be downloaded from the web browser. It's a little more difficult but I solve it. I'm sorry that the software support is not just ethical and you're under the pressure of the users.
Really good if I'm running out of my system for 2-3 years, I do not buy software from Incomedia but I'm going to CMS. Maybe Wordpress will be the solution and there is constant support and software upgrade.

Janos,

As far as I know support is still there for v11 and for v10 as well so no worries there.

Can it be a firewall that is blocking this?

I had the same problem a few years ago, after update of .net framework it worked again.

Is your windows up to date? There good be updates on the .net framework there as well.

I just tested for you v11 evo with pixabay pictures, it worked as it should be, no problem at all.

So it must be something on your pc. Can you install x5 on another pc or laptop just for test?

You might also try a full install of x5 (use your portal next to your name top right) But I think that chances are higher on the other items of succeeding.

I hope one of the above will help you figure it out. And if not I can always ask Incomedia to help out as well. So don't give up yet, x5 is far too good for that.

Let me know how things work out.

THX

Thanks for the advice! The pixabay download has been mentioned in my previous article. I have uploaded the photos directly from https://pixabay.com/.
Unfortunately I tried to install the X5 11 on my other machine but there is no function downloading feature for browsing yes. No matter what, I will not experiment. In parallel, I use Wordpress CMS instead. It's not bad about X5 just unfortunately there is no web "TinyMCE" The Most Advanced WYSIWYG HTML Editor "to handle the content of the finished web site. There is no need to permanently edit the finished web page. Content for Important and Managing Websites TinyMCE | The Most Advanced WYSIWYG HTML Editor is required and not the X5 editor.

Good job and experiment for everyone!

J.K.

I infer from your post that you are still using Windows XP? This is an operating system that is no longer supported by Microsoft in any way, so this may be the limiting factor rather than your version of X5. As Andre says in his post, he has tested your version of X5 with Pixabay and had no issues with downloading images.

Even if Incomedia do not actively offer support for v11 now (after all, they are now up to v15), there are plenty of users who can and will do so. Maybe another user who uses Pixabay will help out?

Janos,

If you don't want to reinstall  .net framework (and it is not hard to do) then I can't help you further.
Please follow my advise, changes are that all will work corrcet again.

Best Regards,

Andre

PS

My personal oppinion about TinyMCE it's terrible, I have it in an CMS system and I needed to correct the code untherneeth many many times to get the page look a little bit normal. Standard text is ok multiple tables on 1 page is an hassle, pictures with links and text is the same truly very time consuming.

But again this is IMHO.

Don't let this discourage you, if you like and it works for you then please use it.

I reinstalled the .net framework.
Unfortunately, he did not help. Everything remains the same as photo download does not work.
In 2017 it was still working properly and I could insert a photo from the pixabay site.
I also asked my friends and they do not have a photo download on pixabay.
Not Windows XP is the limit, the system will disable X5 11. Browse by permission
not download. The online pixabay download remains.

Website X5 is a good alternative but should include an online php-based content editor. When a web site is finished, only the page content has to be edited. An online editor can be used to change the content of a web site anywhere in the world, only an internet access. You do not have to have the Website X5 system and especially when the web page maker and the user are not the same person!

It would be good if the Incomedia company would include a content editor that can be used online for the finished web pages and does not have to be a web editor either by own machine!

Something must be blocking the download connectiion, you have connection with pixabay, you can select the image but then the download gets broken. if you friends have this also do they have same firewall?

Or something else bllocking this? i tested with same version v11, you have, again, no problem!
