Adding New Page Not Working In Websitex5 13 Professional  en

I was trying to add a new special page to my sitemap.  I highlight the sight map heading "Special Pages" and click on the "New Page" button on the right and nothing happens.  In fact none of the bottons on the right seem to affect the sitemap.  I'm not sure what is wrong.

Best regards,

Kurt

The special pages are made in x5 by x5 when using special features (like blog or shop) in x5, they are in the Map (step3) so you can change there properties under special pages. That is all you can do. Well except for adding them to the menu, in that case a you will add a copy.

But the other way around has no function and will not work

Why would you like to add a page there? Add the page above under menu. If you want a page not shown in the menu itself then hide the page with the button on top.

So in a shorter version, you can only add items within x5 to the special folder by activating the blog or other features, it is not there to create pages or folders, there is the top (menu) function for.

Best Regards

Hi Kurt,

as Andre said, special pages are automatically created by the program. They can be, for example, "Blog", which appears when you set up a Blog at Step 1 or "Members' Areas" if you set a page as locked. You need to drag them from the "Special Pages" area to the normal Menu one, in order to display them on the menu.

You cannot add a new Special Page, because of what I mentioned above, but you can add a new page to your normal menu.

Please let me know if I can help you further. Best regards.

Thanks Elisa,

That did answer my question.  I wanted to create a link in my blog post to a more detailed discription of an event that my company was hosting.  I wanted it to look like a flyer I designed for the event by using the Pages settings.  I couldn't make a hidden page in the blog portion of my site.  If I understand correctly, though, you say that I can add a hidden page above or below my blog in the map?

Best regards,

Kurt
