Language adjustment missing  en

Hi,

I was away for a couple of weeks and installed my second copy of X5 on the local PC. I then worked on my template, and exported both the Website and the project to a memory stock. Back home I discover that the project seems to be imported well, but my special extra language NO - Norwegian was missing. hence, all language settings have been reset to EN - English (default). How do I restore my personal language file? By the way, before I left my temporary location I remembered to uninstall X5. I hope the language file is not lost - it took a while to translate all the details!

reinstall x5 on the temporary location old pc, check if the language file is still there, export it, then import it on the new pc.

That's the only way if you have not made another copy of the work you have done.

If it's not possible, maybe someone else form here can help you?

It's nice to share it in a post here in answers, this helps others amd you can get it back as well.

Here Bjorn Andreassen was so nice to share it : https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/en/post/193027

That would take a lot of work out of your hands.

I'm not re-visiting our Spanish aparment before Autumn, so I can't check before then if the Norwegian language file survived the de-installation. ... Before I left I first saved the project, then exported both the project and the Website copy to the memory stick. Apparently - and quite unintuitively - it now seems like I also had to export the language file No - Norway - in a separate action? If so, I suggest that you include this extra step in the normal Export protocol. I can't see this pitfall is mentioned in the help files. Are there other aspects of a Project development that are not coveded by the Export process?

By the way, I had so many project-specific build-up of the language file that the XML file you kindly refer to does not help in my case.

...by the way, I've also tried to import the latest backup copy (I created backups frequently), but neither the backup contained the NO - Norway language file, despite backups are correctly visible with correct days in the local ..\documents folder! Question: exactly where does your system store new language files on the PC?

Arild,

I don't know this, maybe Incomedia does?

It is a good IDEA to take up this file in the project, I would suggest to create an IDEA post for that so that Incomedia can make something like that in the future.
