Youtube autoplay in Chrome - how to mute video?  en

Hi there!

For a website, I use a embedded video from youtube (as seen in the screenshot). I understood that it is neccesary for Google Chrome to have this to be a muted youtube/video file. Thats fine by me, but Website X5 doesnt give me that option to automatically changed the embedded youtube url. When I try to do so myself, it still remains with sound. So maybe I'm doing it wrong, or maybe there's a workaround?

This is the page https://missieopwielen.nl/locaties.html

This is the Youtube URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iu5yrY3dVCc

I found information as: add this: mute=1;autoplay=1

Could someone help me with changing the URL in the correct one?

As I understand it, the latest version of chrome automatically blocks autoplay of sound and video with sound. This is not a WX5 setting..

I can confirm that the site autoplays with music in Firefox, but sadly I cannot make it play in Chrome (perhaps you should not try to alter the default behaviour?:)

As I understood it, Chrome lets you autoplay the video when the video is muted. So if I change the video to a muted URL it should also play in Google Chrome (autoplay). I cannot get it to work at all (play when click play) in chrome at the moment.

Can someone help me how to make the URL muted? Ill try to change the code in website x5 myself, if needed.

Doesnt work. The only option (partially solved) is as follows:

Open the page via Wordpad. Find your youtube link and add manually: &mute=1 after autoplay=1. Would be really helpful if Website X5 could add this via a button (mute) so other users can benefit from it too.

You can check how it works in Google Chrome at: www.missieopwielen.nl/locaties.html
