How to add a dropdown selector that directs to a website page?  en

I want to add a dropdown list that a user chooses an option from; the action of which goes to a website page.

I could do it with text links, but that looks to amateurish.

Adrian.

Add levels (instead of pages), they will look just like any other page in the menu. Now for each level click on properties and send the user anywhere you like (link to another website page if you wish)

You mean by adding a "menu object" into the page? And then set the View of that menu to a hidden level and hidden sub pages that are created as the choices?   (hidden so they dont appear in the main menu)

that should work, except the test i did, the choices are all horizontal, it wont display vertical

Thank you KolAsim for the code suggestion; may consider going that route if the "no-code" suggestion doesn't work out.

Adrian, the menu will display vertically if there is sufficient room (allocate a column of cells, and make the cell width narrow enough to fit only one menu item horizontally)

got it, that should do the job with small number of options, but since my list is long, a dropdown list that only shows say 5 or 6 items in the dropdown window and then scrols until you find the item you want will be better.

... + extra ... x HTML-Code-Objekt : select: https://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_option_value.asp accordion: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/slashdot.htm ... etc. ... . ciao

KolAsim thank you for helping us. I see that you always help the x5 community with code. the question: is it possible to make the standard hamburger menu(X5) open levels by pressing (toggle) and not by hover. it is very necessary if many pages are used. The standard hamburger menu in X5 is terrible and impossible to use.
if you have a ready-made example I will be grateful if you show it ....

Hi, I'm sorry, I am currently without a PC and without programs.foot-in-mouth
I saw your extra menu, but I see that it is not suitable for webSiteX5, and it should be redesigned in order to work in the program.
Hello

(IT) ciao, mi dispiace,
attualmente sono senza PC e senza programmi.
Ho visto il tuo menu extra, ma vedo che non è adatto a webSiteX5, ed andrebbe riprogettato per poter funzionare nel programma.
ciao

Hello Adrian

You could also simply make a section with a collapsable/expandable list.

I have an example here : http://www.bramminginfo.dk/brm09/expand03.html

You can hover and click and be directed to a website page.

If you have really many links, then maybe something like this, where you can collapse and expand all or toggle.

You can see it here : http://www.bramminginfo.dk/brm09/expand06.html

I intend to use this for a html sitemap with small icons that expands when hovering ans of course a click-option that directs to a web-page.

Kind regards

John S.

I agree, the menu object in X5 is functional, but there are many other variations that would help when there are many items to choose from or many sublevels.  Hopefully that will improve in X5 as time goes on.
