James,
They are -as you know- already working on it.
https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/en/post/195218
Also for v16 offcource,
Do you have this with a secure site? (https), try adding wwww in step 1 this sometimes helps.
I think this occurs only for certain providers and only on https sites, so i am trying to help Incomedia here to find the points were it goes wrong, because on most providers it works correct. This way they are able to make a solution faster.
Also the databse connection is in this case, at least in my experience, not correct threfore my provider uses localhost.
I hope this helps getting a solution faster from the developpers of Incomedia.
Hi James,
I get always the same warning message, but in my case its correct and not a bug of X5. It depends from your website configuration. In my Webhosting panel I linked different server directories to different top level domains and they are updated to all primary DNS servers automatically. For example:
The top level domain www.blabla.com is linked to the server directory /htdocs/blabla/index.html.
In the X5 project the configured internet address is www.blabla.com, but during FTP upload the real destination folder is /htdocs/blabla and that's where the files needs to go. In this case X5 drops the above warning message.
Regards
x5 should not give an error if the adres in step 1 is the same as you type in, in your browser to get to your website, the dns server.
The ftp upload folder is almost always an different adres. This should have no influance.
In my case it never gave an error until i changed to https, x5 always gives an error no matter what adres I put in in step 1 (with www or without and with https or https)
That is not correct, the error also creates another problem, the databse connection failes. So it's importand to correct this in x5!
But agoin this is for secure websites, non secure websites works correct and gives no error in my situation.
I continue to get this error message as well. It never occured in any previous versions of the software so lets not try to sugar coat this through explanations, its an error message and bug that that came with version 16 so lets just call it what it is please. However, Incomedia is on the case of fixing the issue thank goodness.
Thank you so much is advance.

Andre E
Ok, but I don't use https in my configuration and even get always the error. The databse connection for the shop works fine. Also the internal update of the product list works inside X5. Only the download of user registration data fails.
My idea for the error message was, that the internal server directory is a subdirectory and not the root directory for the given web address. When I remember it right, if you hit the change button in the warning dialog, it changes the internet address from http://www.blabla.comtohttp://www.blabla.com/htdocs/blabla/
But maybe my observations were wrong. Didn't tried it after the first testing again.
Martin,
It is good that you mention it, it can be several problems. Mine is definatly x5 related.
Yours not, for James I am not sure, he did not respond yet, and for AJ it is v16 related.
But again, it's very good to mention, so there is a good view of all the problems related in 1 post.
Thanks all!
Hello everyone.
I can confirm that the issue were the Website with http used to work and then the https didn't should be already solved.
Your specific case might differ as to how the URL and path to the actual site might be.
Would it be possible for you to type down here the current url written at step 1 and the actual path to the website inside the hosting provider? This way, we can analyze the issue case by case
Keep me posted
Stefano
Stefano,
the website URL is http://www.intelli-labs.com
and the physical ftp server path is ../htdocs/index.html and subdirs underneath.
Martin,
Update to latest version, I tested v16.1.1 and it works, also the databse works again, so it looks solved.
Set in step 1 the adress you type in your browser (without index.html) but with https or http depending on if you have a secure website or not, set the folder where you upload in the destination folder in step5 (x5 asks for confirmation if this one is not filled and manually choosen or wrong adress)
Best Regards,
