What is exactly included in a template?  en

What do you get in a template?  From what I have seen so far by selecting several is: header and footers are set up, one or more background images that seem to be unable to be removed, and a page background that seems to want to stay at the desktop preset viewport width.

Thus when wanting to increase the viewport setting for a wider desktop, that page background does not want to grow wider with it.  Kind of looks weird with text and graphics extending over it to the right.

And, my main question: do all templates have a blank page area?  Thus none of them have presets in them where you just change over the data.  All are blank in their page areas???

I have seen other software programs where a template has several different page layouts for different kinds of pages: about us, contact, and then product pages with products ready to be updated and cart add to buttons.  You just go in and change the existing data to your data.  When you want to add a page, you can select which kind of page and it adds all the preset data.  Are your templates like this or are all page areas just set up with that 2x2 grid and you go from there?

A template is made for specific vieport, if you change viewport size then normally you need to change settings or pictures accordingly, it depends a bit on where they are and what there for.

I suggest to check the guide's there are some topics on templates there, select guides on top or in footer, search for templates. here are some of the most important that I can think can help you.

Content should alway's be adjustable, so it can't be that a picture is not possible to remove. It's probably in the row format's please check these or provide and example.

Thanks, Elisa.  Looks like I will have to upgrade from ver 13 to 16 to see and test some of the free templates since those I looked at say they are not supported by my version.  I am getting a fair grasp of how they work and how the header and footer elements I have to set up manually for the different viewports.  I understand the grid.  I was just wondering if there were some predefined formats for ecommerce sites that looked nice.  Such as just duplicating a product page as needed to keep a uniform look.  Can be done page by page, but could need a lot of paying attention to it.  The lack of the WYSIWYG in the grid makes flipping to the preview mode a bit time consuming.  But I am understanding it.
