Hamburger menu structure  en

My hamburger menu, including sublevels of the main items, show always in a vertical structure: clicking on a main menu-item shows the submenus directly below these menu-item. In this way the menu-items below the clicked one always move. My question:

Is it possible that the submenus in a hamburger menu show at the side of the clicked main-menu item. If so, how can I do this?

I'm using X5 PRO.

Thanks for any hint!

Hello Otto,

The hamburgermenu is specially made for smaller screens. If you are designing you need to use also smaller screens. if you set the menu next to eachother the website (page) will be often fulle overwelmed and you are filling it with only menu that in worse case you need to scrall from left to right.

It is way more common to scroll in height then in width (unless you got to another screen), so no it is designed to be this way and can't be changed within x5.

If you would realy want this you could make an IDEA post for Incomedia (or I can set thiws post to IDEA post if you wish) so they can consider this.

But IMHU it is not usefull or user friendly. Maybe in the widther viewports only, but then the site loses consitancy.

Best Regards,

Hello Otto.

Don't bother about that. In the preview window the hamburger menu always moved. But when you export your website and brose it from any smartphone, they will be fixed, not move.

Create a viewport of 320px because its the most suitable for smartphones and adjust your website for that viewport.

As you are using professional, then you can set upto 10 viewports. Do rember that iphones, ipad, android phones, android tablets have different viewports those are 736px,1024px, 320px and 600px. If you go for different iPhone devices like iphone X, iPhone8 etc. then it will vary. I have given most common viewports. Try this.

Hope this will help you

Thank you

Hi Otto,

thank you for your message.

As Andre mentioned, it is unfortunately not possible to change the way the hamburger menu  is open, I am sorry about this. If you find a custom code to get this feature, this code can be added in WebSite X5, so, if you find scripts that suit your needs, you can easily use them inside the software.

Thanks. Kind regards.
