How can I set a link as a relative URL?

I tried to find an option "relative to the page" (or somethign like this) when setting a link as it can be done with, e.g., Kompozer, but I couldn't. Can this be done? How?

Thank you...

Gabriele

Hi Gabriele, if you use v9, you can set the relative path directly. Simpy enter something like:

mypage.html

instead of

http://www.mysite.com/mypage.html

PS: Are you from Italy, so we can swith this discussion to italian? Wink

Hi Kurt, as I suggested to Gabriele, you need to add a link to URL and enter a relative path as mypage.html instead of http://www.mysite.com/mypage.html

Hi Steve, thank you, but I didn't get it, so I try to explain:
I have an existent slideshow (to explain only one pictur!).
I built my homepage on my virtual webaddress www.test.1.
In this homepage there is only one cell with a picture. This picture contains a link, whos job is to call up my slideshow, which is located in a subdirectory of my homepage base-address.
The homapage base is E:\Ballontest, the slideshow lays in E:\Ballontest\Ballonslideshow.
Now, when I define the Link-address, I tried "Ballonslideshow\index.htm, because this is a relative callup from the homepage-base.
But this did not work, I get an error-msg. Btw., "compozer", a freeware, works fine with such a link-address.
I try to attach 4 jpgs with screenshots of the situation.
Steve, would you please tell me exactly what I should put in the link-definition-line?
Please help! Thank you very much!

Btw., may I write in German, because I'm Austrian?

I think to have understood what you mean. You need to link an external slideshow.

You can do in this way:

  1. export the slideshow in a local folder, ie Ballonslideshow
  2. upload the Ballonslideshow folder on your server (www.test.1) You should be able to view this slideshow at the URL http://www.test.1/Ballonslideshow/index.html
  3. Now back to the main website and create a link to the relative URL Ballonslideshow/index.html

That should work!

Hi Steve,
thank you very much, it works now!
Something for the wish-list, if there is any:
It would be much easier to set a relative link, if there is a radio-button to select if
I will enter a URL or a local relative file-address-name and then, if relative is selected, a navi-button to navigate easy to the required file! No more pencil and paper work!
Thanks for your help!
