Hi Duncan,
please follow JJ.Juag's link, you can download the program for free and try it. If still have questions, please let me know, I will be happy to help you further.
Kind regards.
I am sorry but there is nothing... I would like to know what do it do: changing size of images, deleting duplicate images (sometimes in one website there are five times the same picture), optimizing size of html/php files, reducing amounts of java scripts,...
Duncan and Andrzej, the Optimizer works just like step5 Export / Export project to create an iwzip.
The party trick is to look at every image and to resample/resize each as necessary for optimal quality and download size, as a by product it can substantially speed up load time of a project and stability.
If you resample each image on your website to a suitable size before inserting it there will be little or no change in project size or website download/display speed, but increasingly users are embedding huge photos into their websites on the assumption that WX5 resizes and resamples automatically (it does not).
Download optimiser from the above link, there is rudimentary help inside it. Run it and import the generated iwzip (this will NOT overwrite your existing project). Note that the optimized file (iwzip) can only be opened in the latest version of WX5 irrespective of the version of WX5 used to create the project.
So if it only resamples/resizes images I don't need it. It would be nice not to duplicate images by Website - in small projects I changes links in html but with bigger projects it makes no sense...
Andrzej, you may be correct, but it is free and it will not overwrite an existing project.
