Autoregistration not working ver 16.2.1  en

I set up the Autoregistration on my website.  I set up a database through my cPanel hosting site.  The table "Users" seems to have been set up by WX5 ok.  I can get to the table via my cPanel PHPadmin or through my website WX5/admin dashboard.  I can get into the reserved pages using MY OWN email and pw.

BUT:  I try to register someone using known working emails (I have several of my own, and my wife's) and I get the error "The selected user is already present."  But I know the user is NOT present.  I check the tables and find no users.  No matter what I enter, I get the same error message.

I have tried CTRL-open and a FULL reload of the website, but still no success.

The website is spc-ushers.com.  It may be of significance that this web page is an "add-on" to my main site which is coolshade.com but both are assigned to my cPanel. (the main site is temporarily dismantled and has filler page only.

The reserved page is titled "Our Group"

Thanks for any considerations.

Hi Stephen,

First a dumb suggestion, in ensuring you are using separate databases and install directories for each website built using X5. Assuming you have, then ensure that in Step 1 Settings and clicking on the Advanced Tab and selecting Access Management, that these emails are not already configured as Adminstrators, Registered Users or in any other categories.

X5 uploads the listed users to the website on deployment and will first validate if the user is in the file ({website}/res/access.inc.php) and if found will produce this error when a user attempts to use a pre-registered address.

Let us know how you go or if you need more assistance...

Regards!

Dave

I had just created the reserved pages and entered myself only as administrator.  There were NO other users at any point added.  When I log in, it works.  But no one else can create the account automatically.  I reviewed the above tutorial (J'ai comprennu tout...) and my settings were correct.  As I noted, there were no users found using myPhpadmin but the database table was indeed created by WX5.  It's a mystery.

What also seems to be happening is that, while I can create the database, and the X5 online control panel sees it, the table is NOT being created, thus no users are found.  I would try to create the table manually, but I don't know what field names (headings) should be used, number of columns, etc.

So it isn't creating the table in the database, when I upload the website.

Got it sorted...

I undid everything about the locked pages, removed all users I had set up, pretty much backed out everything...

Then I started the database over, making a new one on my hosting site, re-entering all of that on Data Management, then redid the Access Management set to Autoregister - then locked the page.. But this time, rather than uploading only the "changed" pages, I did a full upload, overwriting everything...

and it worked.

Not sure what made the difference, I'm not that much a novice... but I will note this for posterity.  When in doubt push the full reset button ;-)

Hello Stephen,

Glad to see everything is fine now.

You are right...Sometimes re-start from scratch is the good way.

:-)
