Access Management - email vs userid  en

Others have noted that, starting with V14, access management only allows people to register with an email address. Imposing a restriction like this that wasn't in earlier versions is very poor planning indeed. I also note that passwords must now be at least 6 characters long. Fortunately userid/password combinations entered using older versions of X5 still work so it only applies to new users; thank goodness you haven't (yet) made those people change their userids.

At the very least, please change the Registration page to say something like "userid/email"? Better yet go back to the previous system and put the responsibility for managing access back where it belongs - with the website management and not the X5 developers.

By the way, the primary website I manage is mainly used by older people and many don't have an email address; they only use their local library to access the website occasionally. I realise we can make up any email address (e.g. ***) but surely that's not what was intended with this change.

Can you please rethink this?

Thak you - Wes

Thanks - I hope we get some sort of help from development. I moved to V16 after having other problems and now I wish I hadn't. I made numerous changes to my principal website since moving to V16 and to go back to V13 would mean a lot of work, but I will do it if there are no other choices - my users are not generally gifted with computers and simple userids and passwords is a real advabtage in keeping them involved.

Hello Wes,

I would like to inform you that now any user has an email, the program is designed to be used for users of this type.
Yours is a special case that you can solve by writing a fake email fot the users.
I remind you that old users logging in with the username can continue to use that, only if you change the propeties of the users or add new users,  you neet to add an email.

Pity. Looks like I'll have to move back to V13.
