V16 - V17: we need a correspondance table for changing code
Author: AxelHey Incomedia,
With V17, many work is necessary to adapt our website site.
For our JS code and so on it's not easy to undertsand why some codes are not working !!
It should be very nice to provide us a correspondance Document about changing or dead functions, or changing names.
By example in one code I have changed the div name imObjectForm_1 by imObjectForm_1_form and my code is running fine.
But to find this behaviour we need to investigate a lot with inspect to understand where is the issue.
And here with V17 we will see that the div name has changed ....
And pls ...don't say mee..." because with have a new CCS engine and blabla..." OK you have a new CSS engine, so it's a GOOD REASON to provide us associated doucmentation to help us about adaptation.
But again, nothing is provided !!!
With a correspondance table it should be easier and faster.
Again we are customers, and we lost many time at each new release to re-adapt anything because there is no documentation.
Regards
Salut Axel,
Tout à fait d'accord. Perso, j'ai toujours un peu de code CSS ou autre sur certaines pages ou dans le SEO. Et je constate qu'un projet migré en V17 ne donne pas le même résultat.
Laurent
Good day to you.
As you already pointed out, an official technical documentation is not provided with the software.
This is currently so since the addition of custom code has been since always greatly discouraged by the Staff since even though the Software gives you the possibility of adding such code, it will not guarantee any kind of compatibility, and will have to be manually updated by the user who inserted this per every major update.
Considering the fact that the main point of the software is the possibility of creating website without having to manage any code, this is not and probably will not be a priority, since the code might go through several reworks in order to provide the best performance during website creations, and the insert of custom codes remains secondary as well as, just like I mentioned before, discouraged.
By deciding to make use of custom code, you are well aware of the fact that it will need to be mantained by yourself, with no guarantee of compatibility nor support whatsoever.
I hope I made the point clearer for you, but feel free to let me know should you need any further information on this
Thank you

Not agree with you Stefano on this.
And without speaking about HTML code, just the native V17 with YOUR objects does not works like previous v16.
Is it normal to re-manage our project because your internal code is buggy .. and not tested.
Definitvely NO
So please revise your explanation...
Bye
