Booking query

I want to create a webpage where someone can go onto the page and book their dog in for day care but refer to a diary to check if there is availability. Cann this be done in Website X5 only if it can it is not obvious to me. Any help would be very much appreciated.

No this is not build in.
You can use an calandar that is free and not too hard to create in x5 but you need to use custom code.
There are several posts with help on how to do this from John and others.

The Google calendar has no booking feature ( check for overlap ), but the LuxCal calendar has this option.
You can set for one or more categories, that overlap should not be allowed.
You can have a category where a booking will have a fixed timespan ( could be 45 minutes ) and you can even set that there between two bookings should be a span of a defined period.
If for example a category is a tennis lane. Then the bookings could be for 90 minutes, and there should be a 15 minutes gap between two bookings ( to prepare the lane for the next users )
And the LuxCal is totally free.
