I cannot open my latest copy of my website. I do not have a .iwxip file to import. I do have a recent copy of my website. How do I get website X5 to open it?

You need a project for Websitex5 to open. If you no longer have an iwprj iwprj2 or iwzip file, create a new project and rebuild the structure based on the published homepage. You can copy text, images and files to project.
It is not possible to convert html, php etc. into a project.

Frank, what do you have available??

Do you still have your project directory

in my documents\incomedia\website x5 v12 - Evolution\project name?

Inside the project name folder, is there a backup directory?

(this may only exist if you used the built in FTP to upload the website to the internet)

Hopefully the backup files will look something like this

Pick the most recent one and copy it up to the project directory.

Rename project.iwprj as project-broken.iwprj and rename the backup as project.iwprj

Now run WX5, cross your fingers and see how you get on.

If the first attempt fails, try another backup.

You say you have a copy, is this the original project directory with all files and subdirectories or merely an export of the website that can be opened in a web browser? (sadly this is of little value). If it is the original project folder you could rename your existing project folder and copy the backed up project folder into the website x5 v12 - evolution folder

If you have no joy (and no other backup options), then JJ is correct.

Good luck
