My appeal to the development team...  en

Hi developers!

When I chose your program for my company - I was looking into (literally) +20 other programs (Webaccapella Grid, Bootstrap studio, Dreamweaver, MOBIRISE, PageXL, TOweb.... etcetc) and platforms (WP, Joomla, Drupal...).

I do not chose this program because of the price - I choose it because it was the best!

That said - I must point out the one thing you should look into as soon as you can:

shopping card content table.

It currently looks like it was made 25 years ago!

The column titles are not aligned, the font is too big (and not according to my liking), the layout customizing options are minimal (row colors, font colors and borders)...

My appeal to you is: please make this part at least more modern. If it is a big task before the summer - at least just align the titles of the columns (align: center).- the way it is formatted now it looks sloppy and unprofessional...(please see the attachment)

Could you put this assignment in your TO DO list?

We are planing to do small web-shops for clients - and this part of the software really needs a "face-lift" ASAP!

Thank you in advance for your feedback!

BR,
Sinisa

+1 I fully agree!

All e-commerce and the blog must be reviewed entirely. However, I doubt if we can make these improvements before the summer break.

As i wrote above - I know that summer (vacation) is here and to do a complete "face-lift" it could take a week or so...

But, they should be able TO JUST ALIGN the column TITLES to the column content.

They could work on styling the CART sheet later...but at least just formatting the digits like it supposed to...

Cheers!

The shopping part ( + blog) is far behind what should be expected today. Here you must use 3. party software.

INCOMEDIAS X5 is good when it comes to constructing/designing webpages. But you have to integrate with a product like OpenCart when it comes to shopping.

If you want some software that can really integrate webdesigning, shopping cart and blog, then you have to look elsewhere.

But this is a discussion that has been going on for some years now.

I would like if INCOMEDIA would tell us users whether they are planning ( or are already doing ) a database based shopping system. The database because if you make sites for a client, it is needed that the client himself is able to maintain prices and products without needing to maintain this via X5.

The idea is good but unfortunately this will not happen recently uncommonly gives me a little encouraging news and is that the poll object can not calculate 100% since it does not take into account the decimals, at the time report this in the hope of having a solution quick, but they tell me that it is not possible to solve this problem because it is very difficult for them. And if this is what happens with a detail like this that we can expect for others.

The object is still offering to the public

Regarding the e-commerce and the database - I believe this new version could work with a database (My Sql) (hence they have the client registration option). Am I wrong?

It's "a battle lost from the beginning"! WEBSITE X5 is great for showcase and small e-commerce websites, but for more important e-commerce that require modern functionality, you need to turn to other free solutions like NopCommerce, OpenCart, etc.(they are open source solutions)

Unfortunately, no news yet.
I'll post eventual updates here.

@Giuseppe Guida

There is a plethora of open source and paid e-commerce solutions out-there (I have tried at least 5: Open Cart, Zen Cart, WooCommerce, Shopify, MOBIRISE's e-shop plug-in; - but, frankly, I was not happy with any of them...

...especially, if you're looking for a "stand-alone" web-design tool as well...

My intention is to build small e-shops (app. up to 100 products) - and X5 is quite sufficient for that.

So far - I'm quite satisfied with the official support. It's not perfect - but what is?!

Hopefully, this software will grow - fingers crossed ;)

Sinisa,

Can MOBIRISE e-shop plugin be used with WSX5?

@Sinisa B., as I said above, for small e-commerce websites X5 is perfect ...

@Tom G, no, it's impossible to use Mobirise's plugin with Website X5

I don't think that could... I really don't know (it uses the MOBIRISE THEME - which you must purchase).

Looks like we need to wait for Incomedia to re-do the e-commerce. I've been using WSX5 since version 13 and I saw tens of requests to seriously work on it. Still waiting for any fixes/enhancements...

It would be nice to get some comments from developers regarding e-commerce. Do they work on it, or have plans to work on it and when (approximately, hopefully soon) can we expect something done?

Are you listening, developers?

And I have been here since ver. 8. :-)

The e-commerce has becoming better but not much have been made here ( regarding the e-commerce  ) since then

I think that when they dare to call it PRO version, then I also think it should be for professionels. By this I mean that you should be able to make sites for clients. This is NOT possible today, as maintaining products and prices requires that you have the X5 software. You cannot tell a client : here you have the project. From now on when you want something changed about products and prices, then you must do this by using the software. But beware - it is all the code for your site you can mingle with.

So the important is : move all about products and so, to a database, that can be maintained from the/a dashboard.

Yes, it will be "nice" to hear from developers from time to time ;)

I'm aware that it is a "vacation season" - but still - I believe that this is a serious company which could easily
fix things I'm pointing at in this post (the shopping cart content table layout).

@ John S.

So, it's not possible for the shop-owner to see the orders/product's info on-line?
Although, as I've seen so far - X5 has a possibility to "link" a database (which I intend to do)...

@ Developers

I know it's a summertime - but please react on the above - you know that a satisfied client is a must these days... Thank you!

Hi Sinisa,

I am really sorry but unfortunately I do  not have any news about this matter I am sorry. Unfortunately, I can't tell you for sure if and when an Idea would be implemented. Still, I can assure you that all the suggestions we receive are always reported, so they can be taken into consideration for future software updates.

Thank you for understanding. Kind regards.

Hello Sinisa

It is possible for the shop-owner to see and handle orders without having the X5 software. This is possible by the online-admin-dashboard.

But it is not possible for a shop-owner to change text or price for a product - or to create a new product. This is only possible if you have the X5 software and make an upload.

Hi Elisa,

thank you for replying!
Let's leave the whole shopping cart face-lift for autumn.

The thing which bugs me the most is quite simple to fix (I was a coder 20some years ago, so I can make this claim).

I just need that the column title should be aligned to the center of the column (pls. see the attach). That's all! Nothing else!

I really do believe that this is doable to do even if the main IT guys are on their holidays ;)

I'm bugging you with this because my accountant point out this detail to me 10 seconds after seeing the demo-website.

I believe that my company's future clients would have the same remark also...

Cheers!

Cheers, man! I have not forgotten - but this should be implemented in the software.

Again, I'm repeating myself- if I wanted to code - I'd buy Bootsrap Design Studio or alike...

As you mentioned in your post, this would be a 5 min. work + recompiling the update.

It's been 10 days today since Sinisa B. posted the appeal to developers.

Did the appeal reach them? I pretty sure it did! No word from developers is not a good sign. They probably are not thinking about making e-commerce the way it should be.

Or maybe it's too much what we ask for?
