I have files for a site which I built (a long time ago) in version 8

But I uninstalled version 8 when bought version 10. Is there anything I can do?

You would require a copy of v9 as an intermediate stage, because v10 can't directly import v8 projects.
You can wait and see if someone in the community might offer you assistance with the conversion, but be aware that this would be of their own goodwill and free time.
Incomedia withdrew support for v10 a long time ago.
