Hello Nigel,

You can rename any page to index using the File Name field in Step 3 Map > Page Properties > SEO (see the screenshot below):

Obviously there can only be one index file in a project, so you will have to first rename the existing homepage (index.html/index.php, etc.) to something else.  But you do this using the exact same method.

You will probably also want to alter the Page Names in the Sitemap afterwards (also in Step 3), to reflect the edits you have made.

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi Paul

Thanks for this update. After renaming the 2 files the original page still has the home symbol in the site map.

I renamed original to index1 and the new to just index

Does this matter

Nigel

That's fine, Nigel.

It's immaterial whether or not the Home icon is highlighting the 'wrong' page in that regard.

The homepage in any project will always be determined by how DirectoryIndex is set up on the server.  Most servers default to index.html or index.php, and will fetch the corresponding page when requested.

In other words, an arrangement such as the following is perfectly OK in WebSite X5:

...providing the Home Page has its File Name set to precisely match that of the DirectoryIndex on the server.

So the File Names you have chosen will be just fine.
