Database Viewer search function

Has anyone used the Database Viewer object to create a tool on a landing page that website users can use to search a table?
I see from the preview that one of the options is the "Show Search" checkbox - which I presume means search the table that is linked to the Database Viewer object?
I'd like to add a landing page where visitors can search by part number and see the price of an item - so a simple 2 column table is all I need.
