I have all of a sudden got this error on both my computers with latest version of X5 please advise.

Hello Robert,

When presented with this error the official advice from Incomedia is as follows:

  • Ensure you are using the latest updated version of WebSite X5 (you've already done this)
  • Reinstall WebSite X5
  • Delete the contents of the Preview and Upload folders (if any) within your WebSite X5 project folder
  • Hold down the CTRL key whilst entering the Preview mode in WebSite X5, then attempt to reupload your project to the server in Step 5

If having tried all these steps you continue to have difficulty, then please wait for the Incomedia support team to assist.  They normally respond within 24/48 hours.  I have notified them of your issue.

Please keep us updated either way.

Finally, two unofficial solutions which worked for a couple of other WebSite X5 users:

  • Leave the Destination folder field empty in Step 5
  • Use a third party FTP client to upload the WebSite X5 project files to the server, after which the built-in FTP client appeared to again work normally on subsequent uploads
