Hello Incomedia!
Just got an info regarding the new BETA version 2019.3.15.0.
When I read the Changelog - I could not see anything related to the eCommerce update (strangely, I was not surprised...)
On behalf of the current users who are using your software for creating online shops - I must ask you:
Incomedia, If you were THE USER - what would you do with the software where the (very) important feature (eCommerce) has not been updated FOR YEARS?
***
Users are continuously asking that you do something about it - I've been asking you since June 2019. - but all we can get are some vague answers.
Incomedia, do you have the strength to give us a straight (non-political) answer regarding the eCommerce development?
Thank you in advance...
Posted on the
+10 - we are waiting for truly answer - what and when (about ecommerce)?
Their CEO Federico said me by email in December... beginning of the year...
Even him is not able to say the thruth
I am laughing by their blablabla
"beginning of the year" - but which year? 2030? :)
@Andrzej , others...
Good question
When the have lose a lot market shares, to restart the engine ... it will be too late ..

Thank you for commenting!
I really do hope that we will get an honest answer here. I will be glad if someone from the company said - loud and clear- we are abandoning the e-commerce feature... that way I'll use WS X5 for making ordinary websites...
I can not finish my online store for almost a year because "someone" doesn't want to invest a few working days for improving their own software (!) - which is a total mystery to me (as a former software developer).
So, let's wait a bit for the reply... maybe we will be pleasantly surprised?
Ecommers will probably come first in X5 Preview?

I've seen this - but it seems to me it's just a "bug fixing".
No serious e-commerce upgrade/update...
Hi there!
Please consider the version which was published some days ago did not include new features concerning the e-commerce section because it was a beta release referred to the current 2019.3 version, which was meant to introduce some fixes only.
The new e-commerce features are in fact available for the Preview version which has just been released. Here you can find the changelog: https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/en/w5/changelog/PREVIEW
I hope you enjoy the new functions! Have a nice day.
Hello Elisa.
I am going through the Preview version right now and I don't see changes to the "Allow minimum order value" section, as stated here in my previous post: https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/en/post/222475
Please send the information in my post: Idea 1“Allow minimum order value" Option and Idea 2 "Enable Coupon Code for the order" to Website X5 programmers as these features affect the shopping cart fuctions in a huge way.
I am not able to see this link because i finished with update protection for beliving in unfulfilled promises. Nevermind, for sure nothing interesting, i will see comments after its publishing.

I will not install the preview version - because I do not want to ruin the working one.
It's a good thing that something is working on the e-commerce - but I would need the information if the below is "on the table" too:
1. Adding a new payment gateway (Skrill and/or Stripe and/or 2checkout...);
2. New VAT calculating rules (VAT by country...);
3. In the checkout table - the last info should be the TOTAL amount and not VAT amount;
I cannot finish my web-shop if I haven't got a new payment gateway... my local currency is not supported by PayPal and other services (SagePay etc.) are not working with companies from Croatia.
Elisa, thank you very much for the additional feedback...
+ 1.
Sorry for the users. Instead of developing according to new technologies, this application becomes obsolete. The transition to new technologies and new applications will be mandatory. Sorry Incomedia.
@Sinisa, the "PREVIEW" version works independently from the stable version that you use for your projects. They are two different installations, don't worry.
I find the new "product search page with filters" for the cart very interesting (some small bugs have already been found but it is a Preview version and these bugs will be fixed before the release of the stable version). For once I have to congratulate Incomedia, but I understand that it would take more speed to release important updates and features for the e-commerce cart and, unfortunately, everything goes very slowly.
Sinisa - unlike with previous releases the new preview configuration is pretty good at isolating the preview version from the current stable release (of course in saying this, I still keep my projects in folders named according to version. I do NOT like the common folder approach).

Thank you guys for all this great info!
Ok, I have to install the preview version then...
Hey Sinisa,
Check this link to install the preview

Nothing in your actual project will be modified even the DB. It's really a good point and effort from Incomedia to test and to be sure don't broken you project.
Obviously a manual backup is always recommended
Have fun... the new searching feature is nice... A good new point to improve the shop
Check my posts on it.... Yoy will have maybe same remarks.

What about our other (more urgent) requests regarding the e-commerce update?
Do not get me wrong - I'm "ecstatic" that something is doing about the e-Commerce... and the product SEARCH option is a neat thing to have... but I cannot remember any user's request for inclusion of that option.
Elisa,
can you share other things that are currently "on the table" for the future e-commerce update?
Thank you in advance!
The search and filtering of the shop have been asked before by several user's.
There are a few glitches at the moment but it looks very nice and makes your shop more profesional.
So i am glad it s there and also glad that there is a nice feauture in the shop developped.
And i am sure more will follow, hopefully a bit faster then the last shop update's, because the shop is more and more used and lack's feutures that other shop software have, even free once's have.

Hopefully we'll see soon enough that other things are updating too in the eCommerce...
Hi Sinisa,
please consider the new features which have been introduced in this Preview version have indeed been requested quite frequently.
I am sorry the current improvements do not completely meet your needs, so if you still feel something important for you is missing, please don't hesitate to let me know, I will be happy to report any possible further improvement.
Thanks! Kind regards.

Thank you for the feedback - glad to see that something is "moving" in the eCommerce!
Elisa, I have posted so many posts that you girls & guys working in Incomedia should already know precisely what is URGENT to fix/upgrade in the eCommerce section.
Sorry for being so frank - but it seems to me that in the company nobody is using WSX5 for eCommerce...otherwise you will know first-hand what need to be fixed.

Elisa, I have written this many times - if you need a TO DO list (by priority) - I'd gladly wrote one for you again.
