Hi Michal,
thank you for getting in touch.
Unfortunately, iwprj files can't be imported as such, but you can follow this procedure to recover your project:

Please remember to set your post as public, so that if you have difficulties the moderators can get back to you. In fact, the direct technical support for version 8 and 9 of WebSite X5 is no longer available. More information is available here:

Thanks! Kin regards.

Hi Elisa,
but this version of WebSite X5 can open only .iwp and .iwzip files - please take a look at the attachment.
Kind regards, Michal
I would try to rename the file extension from .iwprj to .iwzip...
Tom, renaming the file will not help.
The procedure to import V8 to v9 was not straightforward like today with import iwzip. Even if you get your V8 project into v9 it is too old to import into a current version ( it is necessary to bring v9 up to at least v11 to successfully import to a current version).
Most people recreate their old websites in current versions, but we can help if requested.
As for V8 to v9, I will try find the required steps, but hopefully someone else will still have the procedure at their fingertips to help you more quickly.
Hello everyone,

Can you tell me, please, in which old version of WebsiteX5 can I work with .iwprj files, please? I don't want to recover or even recreate... I just want to edit this old projects. Thank you.
Hello Michal,
There is little more to add than has already been said.
IWPRJ files cannot be imported into WebSite X5, in any version. Only IWZIP files are used for project import (IWP files were used up to and including version 8). IWZIP files form a sort of container which encapsulates every single aspect of a WebSite X5 project.
IWPRJ (or IWPRJ2) files on the other hand, are the files which WebSite X5 uses whilst you are working on a project. If the .iwprj file for this particular project appears to be corrupt then you can follow the procedure referred to by Elisa in the first reply above. However, you need other associated project files to be available as well, for this to be a success. These other files are normally to be found in the same folder as the .iwprj in a working WebSite X5 installation.
I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but without an IWP or IWZIP file, or at the very least an IWPRJ file accompanied by other project data, then there is no way to recover a WebSite X5 project.
Here is the older version of the document which Elisa linked to, which is more applicable to version 9 (which I think is the newest version you are working with?):
