Paypal integration with x5 - credit card rebilling allowed?  en

I have not upgraded from 2020.2.5 yet but I would like to ask anyone who has tried the new paypal integration if credit card rebilling is allowed.

Due to the various packaging options and shipping destinations, it is not possible to deterine the shipping cost until all of the goods a customer orders has been packaged and weighed.

So at the moment the X5 cart on my site takes the order but does not charge the customer.  Once shipping is calculated then we contact the customer to take payment.

If I implement checkout payment, that would take payment for the goods - can I then go back into paypal once the shipping has been calculated and rebill the customer (followup billing)? Does paypal have a provision for doing that?

I currently use Stripe on another non X5 site and it does support rebilling.

I am not finding any information on that on paypal.

@ Adrian

I think not.

I have "played" with the PayPal yesterday - but I don't think that it will support reblling...
I think you'll have to do it "manually": you should send a payment request for shipping costs separately...

BTW - living in Croatia, I can not use this new direct credit card payment option... nor my local currency as the main web shop's currency... Overall, this NEW PayPal platform is a big disappointment...
