Paypal Payment
Author: David WilsonHi,
I reported this problem while 2020.3.3 was in preview, the PayPal checkout defaults to the United Kingdom instead of Australia in all browsers except Google Chrome, and as I stated the I think many buyers will not proceed with a payment because of the amount of steps required, something I think x5 already has too many of. I also do not see how this could be a PayPal problem when x5 links to my PayPal account, I have had a business account with PayPal for many years and have verified my identity and my address.
So, if x5 connects to my PayPal account without problem why would PayPal assume I am in the United Kingdom, when the account is not only in Australia but is verified as being in Australia. Also, if X5 is using the browser settings then you are expecting people to not only know this, but change them. I don’t know of anybody that has ever bothered doing this, especially on tablet and mobile devices.
I have also noticed in the sales invoice email a code appears next to the Country Code. See attached photo’s

I was lead to understand that the country was determined by the Browser Language, is this so?
Our problem is that 99% of the time our browser (down here in Oz) is set to English UK or English America, unfortunately not English Australian. If as David says v2020.3.3 is not as clever as earlier versions then this needs to be resolved by being able to parse the correct country to the purchase form and subsequently Paypal
I have marked this post for Incomedia's attention. Another post (https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/en/post/233236) indicates a related problem. I believe the country is now parsed directly from WX5 to Paypal. If this is the case the problem is with WX5?

Hi,
I have just tried the suggestion from Cliff G's Post https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/en/post/233236 and it works. Setting the Culture id to AU in Language content sets PayPal window to Australia. So apart from the Country (ISO 3166/A2): in the invoice order all if fine. Although I do wish you would fix the payment system so if the user cancels the order, or uses the return to seller website link in the PayPal window, it should default them to the payment error page of my website and not send me an invoice email.
Thanks,
Dave Wilson
