I entered code generated by iubenda for cookie policy when I didn't need to. Now I have a great big banner coming up on screen, which I can't remove. When I go into the code section on statistics and code, there is nothing there. I'm new to this, so can anyone help me please? Many thanks. Martin.

Where did you place the iubenda object? Just delete from the place wherever you placed it.

a prtscrn or webpage might help better....

Sorry, this is so late. It got into the spam notice. The webpage - the home page only - is: https://www.art-carduk.com

No problem.

It looks like the code is placed in the body content.

step1 -> Advanced TAB -> statistics and code -> TAB code -> code is in the after body tag.

copy it to notepad and save it for backup, or make a copy of your project and work in the copy so you can fall back in case it goes wrong some how.

But remove the code there and you should be fine. (code for cookie law message)

Hi. I think I must be too old for this. The code is the Google site verification code and nothing to do with iubenda. Sorry for the confusion. Have a look at the attached scr shot. If I remove this code, show that it doesn't show on the home page, will it damage the link with Google or is there another way to hide it from public view?

Use the pulldown and go to the after body tag.

step1 -> Advanced TAB -> statistics and code -> TAB code -> code is in the after bodytag.

Martin,  Clean looking site, My Google code is added                                                                                           step1 -> Advanced TAB -> statistics and code -> TAB code -> Before closing the HEAD Tag

Or just use the Tag ID in the first box "Tracking ID"   That should  stop it from being visible on homepage..  also Personally i would remove the "Created with Website  X5"  from footer... Unless you want it that way, I would put your own name/company name in its place...

Only my tuppence worth of help from a fresh pair of eyes...

Andy, thanks very much for the input. I've got the code in the tracking ID box but yet to remove it from the head tag. I will give it a try and thanks a lot for taking the time to look at the site. May I take the opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and, hopefully, a better and happy New Year.
