This is strange  en

I received a mail from INCOMEDIA telling me there was a present for me.

First thing that is strange is, that it offers something that is free - and the free PRO version is only free in a limited time. Most software have a trial period, but it is not often they call it a gift?????

Next thing that is strange is, that this software offers what is also offered by the INCOMEDIA product WebAnimator. I find it a bit strange to promote some software that is made by another firm AND that is in the same segment as own software.

Can someone explain this for me?

Is INCOMEDIA on the way to stop development on own software products and will now tell its users what alternatives there are?

Will we soon see a promotion of WYSIWYG web builder or maybe WIX or WordPress? I would like to know if INCOMEDIA is on its way to a selling-3.part-software firm. It has an office product, PDF edit software, Windows 10 ????

Hi John S,

Like you I am very puzzled about this offer and where Incomedia is intending to go. Having purchased WebAnimator, Incomedia is now recommending another product from a rival software company, very strange.

In past years Incomedia has offered advent calendar style freebies, could it be that Incomedia is now on the way out, if so what happens to all the people who have purchased update protection?

Best wishes for Christmas,

Jim

Hi All,

Another thing that I have noticed is the considerable reduction in the amount of feedback and comments from Incomedia staff on this forum.

Has Incomedia reduced its employee headcount? if so what does this bode for the future of X5?

Hello John,

thank you for getting in touch.

The offer you are referring to refers to a promo code you can get for free in order to activate Crello Pro and not pay for it for the first two months. The offer is limited to two months.

We have arranged this promotion on the basis of internal agreements with the partner company, nothing more.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Kind regards.

Hello Elisa

I know what the offer/gift is referring to. I can read.

Maybe you can be of further asistance. You could answer my questions that is:

Why are INCOMEDIA promoting other/rival companys software?

Why are INCOMEDIA so busy with other software while there seem to be NO development going on for the X5?

Have INCOMEDIA stopped the development on X5, where still many things need to be done?

Why should we pay for update-protection when we receive no updates that is of any value?

Hi John,

I fully agree with your comments; Elisa’s reply is more about what is not said rather than what she actually replied.

I want to make it clear : I really like the X5 product. I have used it for years and still do. I only try to express that I am wondering what is going on with the product. What is the plan for the future? I think many users would like a statement from INCOMEDIA that of course there is a development going on. I find this very reasonable, and there should be no reason to hide what is obvious questions. Maybe this is why my question is still to be seen.

Incomedia

Hi John,

I really would like to stress that there is no connection between any possible promotion for partner products and the development of the software.

Incomedia has been carrying on different kinds of partnerships with other companies (just think about Pixabay). Such partnerships can result in different ways of promoting a partner product depending on the internal agreements between the partner company and Incomedia itself. The reason we do this is that we would like to offer products which we think could be useful or interesting for our users.

Meanwhile, we of course carry on with the software development as well. I think we have proved it this year, as we have introduced many new features regarding the e-commerce in particular. You will then have access to the new functions which we are developing as soon as the next Preview version of the software will be available.

I hope having clarified your doubts and I wish you a nice day.
