Out of curiosity, has anyone tried using Wx5 for newspapers / magazines? I realize it is not wordpress, but then again it is simpler to administer and has less issues with updates and the fragmented plugin vendor space.

Hello Craig,
I am not sure what you exactly want to do with these, selling seems possible to me although it would take some administration next to x5 as well, but for publishing x5 might not be the best option.
Anyway, maybe you wil get some responce from users that actualy have tested or used it.
@ Craig
Do not use WSX5 (as it is now) for making news portals!
It has so many bad points that I don't know where to start...
Hi Craig,
thank you for getting in touch.
If you want to use WebSite X5 for a news website, please remember you will need to add the news by working locally on PC and then exporting the modified project online.
I'm available for any further clarification. Kind regards.
(It > En) ... I don't know what you can understand from the google translate translation; ... ... of course it depends on what you want to do and achieve, but don't trust those who say it's not possible for a fixed idea ...
... if you know the program well, and you know something to do and you have clear ideas from the beginning, then you would have no problems; you can also use the BLOG for some sections; .... as said by Elisa, ... you will have to export at each modification or update; one click; ... if you divide the site into sub-sites you could make management more flexible, but in fact you must have clear ideas and no doubts; ... it will depend only on you ...
... just to give you an idea I'll show you the LINK of > this site of one of our normal users, paginated like a newspaper, with the contribution of my little EXTRA code ...
... more I cannot tell you, and as mentioned before, it will only depend on you, in whatever way or platform you would like to use; ...good luck...
ciao

That is useful. Yes I think it might work for something small, that does not require frequent updates.
