Star ratings not visible on website in Comments and Ratings object

I found the same problem on the discussion here, marked as solved already, but there is no solution proposed (the stars "appeared" again).
The Comments and Ratings object works, but the user does not see how many stars they select.
It used to work correctly until today, to be more precise I noticed the error today. It behaves like this with all the Comments and Ratings object instances I use on my pages.
I made no changes within the Comments and Ratings object settings since it worked well.
I have the same problem in the preview of my pages. It looks like when I change the vote style the stars re-appear. I can do it for now, but this is not a solution. I don't want to check the object every day and if it doesn't work, reload the pages with changed star style :)
