Control when a page-menu should become a hamburger  en

When you have a menu on a page, you are not able to control when it should turn into a hamburger. When the screen gets too narrow, it starts to expand vertically (wrap) and only on the last viewport it turns into a hamburger.

It is good to have the full text of the menu items as long as there is space. But sometimes you want to save space vertically and you maybe want the menu to turn into a hamburger instead of wrapping.

I suggest a setting for a menu : Show as hamburger below xxx pixels.

Hello. I sent a notification about your idea to the company employees, expect an answer from them here in the comments.

In such cases, I adjust the width, padding and spacing of the menu buttons, as well as the font size of the menu.

@Aleksej

I want to control when the (page)menu should become a hamburger. I want it to be full width on a desktop, and then become a hamburger when this is needed. Because of the wrapping I cannot control that. I cannot "style" me out of this. The problem is when the menu is on a page.

Hi John,

please consider you can decide for which viewport you want the hamburger button to be displayed by reducing the Menu Object size for the wished resolution on Step 2 > Template Contents.

Is this what you are referring to?

Thanks! Kind regards.

IT IS THE MENU OBJECT WHEN ON A PAGE - not in the header or the footer that is the problem.

So - NO -  this is not what I am referring to.

Hi John!

What if you select the Always display the Hamburger Button option?

Thanks! Kind regards.

Hello Elisa

This is also what I found I had to do as an "emergency" solution. But it is not "THE" solution.

On a desktop the menu can be visible as menu items, which is much more effecient than when you first have to click the hamburger - see waht it contains - and then choose a menu item.

In desktop-view you can see the menu items immediately and then just click on the one you want.

This is why I want to have the menu become a hamburger ONLY when it is needed - as it is for lower viewpoints.

I think easy navigation on a site is essential for a user. And I want it to be as effective as possible.

Here https://bramminginfo.dk/bramny/udflugtssteder.html you can see what I mean.

In desktop the left-menu is a very effective way to navigate. And in combination with the breadcrumbs in the left upper corner, a user can quickly navigate. In smaller viewports the left-menu is not an option but then the hamburger in the 2. row that becomes sticky, must be used for navigation.

The left-menu is made by using the side-bar ( moved left by code ) where I have placed menus that is only present when needed. Hope you/the programmers will make it possible to choose the level for a page.

Hope you understand why I want the menu to be "normal" until it is needed to be a hamburger.
