Customer cannot place an order on my website

I have open my shopping cart and added products and everything appears to be in order but when I went into my website and placed an order all the relevant details came up with an order number etc., but no details came through to my private email (which I had put when test ordering) about my order nor did an email come through to my business saying that a customer had made a purchase.
What am I doing wrong?

1) Check your SPAM folder.
2) Check the mail settings in the program.
3) Try different types of mail sending scripts.

I have tried all these and nothing is still working. A friend also tried to order from my website and the order said she would get an email confirm her order and an invoice would be sent regarding payment. She received no email nor did I informing me of her order.
Try changing your PHP version to 7.4.This can be done on the hosting.
Give a link to the product page. Are there errors in the browser console or server logs?

Also, if you try and create a temporary Contact Form in Step 4, do the emails that are sent there work? Can you try with those instead of the e-commerce and see if those work?
