Shopping cart question. Can this be done?  en

Can the shopping cart be set up so that if Product 1 is purchased, you have to purchase Product A along with it?

Same thing goes if Product 2, must purchase Product B,  likewise if buying Product 3, must purchase Product C?

The rest of the other products 4 to 20 can be purchased individually.

How can I set this up?

make 3 cards,

card one with product 1 and a in it.

card 2 with product 2 and b in it.

So make these 2 items be seen in 1 cart, that should do the trick.

Thanks Andre.

Currently, I already have it set up like you were suggesting.

But just having some concern that having it this way may discourage the buyer.

Since the shopping cart does not have a feature to purchase subscription, I was trying to find a way to accomplish this.

Product 1 is a monthly subscription ($30.00).  Product A ($20.00) is a one-time charge for activating Product 1.

Lilkewise, Product 2 is another type of monthly subscription, and Product B is also a one-time charge for activating Product 2.

The rest Product 3 and up are also monthly subscriptions that does not require activation charges.

Creating a card with 1 & A and 2 & B in it may accomplish the buying process but may "scare them off" seeing the cost ($50.00) is expensive "visually", even if you inform them in the description that A is only a one-time charge.

But creating 4 cards: 1=$30.00, 2=$20.00, A=$20.00, B=$10.00 may "seem" affordable.

Any suggestions?

Maybe it depends, do you charge/use any shipping option?

If not you can try to give the products that has startup costs a weight (like 2).

Then set shipping in the shop (step settings -> order management) and make that a one time start up cost or whatever you want, then set this if the weight is above 1 for $20.

This only works if you have no other shipping else customer can set this to off in the order (choose a different shipping)

Andre,

I considered using 'shipping'. There is no charge on shipping.  These are services offered.

Also a customer may purchase Product 1 and 2 at the same time.  They have a different activation charge amount.

After the initial sign up on product 1 and 2, each of them have an on-going monthly charge of $30.00 and $10.00 respectively.

Also, customer may order several of Product 1 and 2.  And each item has a Product A & B to go along with the initial sign up.

A similar example to this is when ordering cellular services. Customer may sign up for one mobile service.  Charged monthly and a one-time activation fee.  Or customer may order several mobile phone services, each having a one-time activation fee.

Thanks for the help

Hi Sam,

I fear that it isn't possible to achieve what you are describing with the functions included in the software, I am sorry about this.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

Thanks! Kind regards.

It only works with shipping if you have no other options there and just for 1 value.

Else you are stuck with making a note in the card.

If these are monthly charges you could also create options but then you need to check manualy every time for a new subscription if custumer has selected this....

see: https://andreweb.nl/x5_test/shop.php

Else i am out of idea's....
